I am Lakshmi Bhavani Konduru, teacher, performer, and an eternal student of Kuchipudi dance. Learning my first Kuchipudi steps at the feet of Padma Bhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam master garu, I went on to train under gurus Sri Mahankali Mohan garu, and Sri Chinta Adinarayana Sarma garu . I then obtained a Master’s Degree in Performing Arts (Kuchipudi) from University of Hyderabad (1997). I have over 20 years of experience in practicing, performing, and teaching this delightful dance form. With a background in counseling psychology, I have also used dance movements as a therapeutic technique to help children with special needs, to great effect. I teach online classes for students who do not have access to local gurus, and for those who want personalized training. I also teach in-person classes in the San Francisco Bay Area near Fremont and provide workshops in the Southern California area. We offer several services for those who are just starting their path as a student of Kuchipudi dance as well as for those who have studied for some time.

Kids learning dance imbibe these qualities right from an early age and grow into confident vibrant and positive individuals. Practising the art form on a regular basis can make an individual pick up these qualities at any point in life. Seetha offers classes in Menlo Park, USA (Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, City of Menlo Park). Parna is the ONLY direct disciple of the Kathak legend, Pt. Birju Maharaj in the Bay Area. She learned from him for over a decade, taught at his world-renowned institution (Kalashram), toured the world with him, was a featured soloist on National TV (Doordarshan), and performed in Bollywood movies, such as Devdas, choreographed by Maharaj-ji. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to get your child introduced to the beautiful world of Kathak by the master artiste herself. Parna Basu is a leading practitioner of the Kalka-Bindadin Lucknow Gharana of Kathak, a classical North Indian dance tradition. She is a prime disciple of the legendary Pt. Birju Maharaj, training under him for over a decade. An accomplished artist, Parna was the recipient of the National Scholarship of Culture (Ministry of Culture) and a “Grade A” artist for Doordarshan (National Television of India) since 2001. She has performed all over the world, both as a soloist and as part of Pt. Birju Maharaj’s select ensemble. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 2000s, Parna established the Nritta Katha school of Kathak Dance. She endeavors to inspire her students to develop a graceful physical presence based on core strength, build numerical cognition to seek joy in the delightful patterns all around us, and find their path to self-actualization through a classical art form. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2003, I faced the exciting prospect of establishing my identity as an artist and a teacher of the Lucknow Gharana. It was an incredibly rewarding time to integrate into the rich arts environment in the SF Bay Area. I performed as a featured soloist in the 2006 and 2007 editions of the Ethnic Dance Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, the Presidio, and the Mexican Heritage Plaza, San Jose. Location of classes: Dublin, Fremont, Peninsula (Foster City / San Carlos) and Other locations if needed.
