Bharatanatyam Dance Class in San Ramon, CA

KA Academy founded by C.V.Subramanian and Gayatri Subramanian, offers specialized training in the Carnatic (South Indian Classical) style of Violin and Bharatanatyam. Classes are offered to beginners, intermediate to advanced levels. Students will get an opportunity to perform in the academy's chamber concerts and annual recitals. The Artistic Director, Gayatri Subramanian is dedicated to teaching the traditional style and intricacies of Bharata Natyam. Students get structured and rigorous training in dance and also in theory, leading to certification from esteemed Universities like Silicon Andhra and Annamalai University. KA Academy grooms aspiring young students who are the budding artists. Registrations are now open for in person class. Gayatri Subramanian, an exponent Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and instructor is one of the senior most disciples of Guru Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan, the Founder-Director of the institute "Soundarya Natya Kalalaya Foundation", Mumbai. She has undergone an intensive training for over 25 years from her Guru and has won accolades and awards for her performances in India and abroad. All her performances have been well received by the audience and the press as well. Gayatri holds a first class Bachelor's Degree in Dance (specializing theory). She has proficiency in the intricacies of both theory and practical. She has choreographed a number of dances and conducted several dance shows, fundraisers and arangetrams. Intricate footwork marks her area of expertise. A special mention to her intense facial expressions especially the nava rasas (nine basic emotions) for which she is always appreciated. Gayatri has been teaching Bharatanatyam in Atlanta, Georgia for the past 17 years. She has conducted 11 arangetrams to her credit. Her students get a systematic and rigorous training in dance and intensive training on theory (Natyashastras) as well, which equally contribute to the field of dancing.
