She had Kathak training under the following Gurujis: Satya Narayana Charkha, Shakti Bhatnagar Roberts, Urmila Goyel, and Syed Asghar Tirmizi. In her teenage years, Leena played the leading roles in Dance Ballets (dance plays based on Hindu religious scriptures), playing the leading roles in Ballets like Krishna Leela, Ram Leela, Luv Kush, Shakuntala, Vasavdatta, and Charomitra. She attained advanced Kathak training from Saswati Sen, a senior disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 2000s, Parna established the Nritta Katha school of Kathak Dance. She endeavors to inspire her students to develop a graceful physical presence based on core strength, build numerical cognition to seek joy in the delightful patterns all around us, and find their path to self-actualization through a classical art form. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2003, I faced the exciting prospect of establishing my identity as an artist and a teacher of the Lucknow Gharana.
