At Arohana Academy of Performing Arts (R), we provide quality education using specialized training techniques in Bharathanatyam, a beautiful Indian classical dance form. The focus is on imparting knowledge, teaching the various nuances involved, enabling you to enjoy the dancing journey and making dance an integral part of your life. A firm and a strong foundation is the key! At Arohana we believe in growing deeper roots and growing tall and strong. Many life skills such as patience, focus, self-awareness, empathy, determination, concentration, physical and mental strength, are some of the outcomes of the rigorous training process at Arohana. The dance school was founded in the year 2002 and was initially based in Bangalore, India. It was then registered with the Karnataka education board. Many students were trained in certification courses recommended by the Karnataka state government. Students were also trained in a variety of folk form such as Kolatta, kaikottikali, Lavani, Bhangra, Rajasthani folk, and Karagattam. Semi-classical, contemporary and peacock dance were few other forms introduced to the junior/intermediate level students. Currently, Arohana Academy of Performing Arts (R) is based in Plano, Texas. Bharathanatyam courses are offered to kids (6 years and above) and adults in the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
