Learn Quest offers vocal and instrumental instruction in Indian Classical Music in Massachusetts, locations, both in Hindustani and Carnatic styles, as well as Western music. Moumita Banerjee is very passionate about Kathak Dance and started learning kathak dance (in Jaipur Gharana) at the age of five under Smt. Susmita Chakraborty in Calcutta. She earned her Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) degree from Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi, India), one of the largest and prestigious university in Asia. She was awarded with Gold Medal for securing 1st position in the University. She also completed Prabhakar degree (Similar to bachelor’s degree in Kathak dance) and Senior Diploma in Kathak with distinction from Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad, India) She received her Master of Performing Arts (MPA) degree in Kathakk dance in Lucknow Gharana from Bhatkhande Music Institute (Deemed University, Lucknow). She har learned under legendary Gurus like Prof. Kumkum Dhar, Prof. Bina Singh, and Prof. Ranjana Srivastava. She also completed workshop training with late Pandit Birju Maharaj, leading exponent of Lucknow gharana of Kathak and Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee. She has been a performer for many years, performing and Choreographing in India and in USA (Florida, Texas, and Massachusetts) at various organizations and festivals. Her students also performed in many programs in Greater Boston community such as Essence of India, Acton; IAGB; IAB; Sai rainbow; Boston Children Museum and many other places. With prior teaching experience in India and in USA, Moumita is glad to share her dance experience with children and adults who love Kathak as much as she does. Kathak is one of the major forms of classical dance of India with its origins in Northern India. The name Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘katha' which means ‘story' and the one who tells the stories is called ‘Kathak'. Kathak is found in three Gharanas-Jaipur, Banaras, and Lucknow Gharana from the cities where the Kathak dance tradition evolved. These classes at TSK will focus on the Banaras and Lucknow Gharanas.

Neha is a talented dancer who showed a lot of promise and deep interest in dance from a very young age. She was exposed to the beautiful and intense art form of Bharata Natyam from a tender age of 7. Her love for this art, persuaded her to take up professional training in Bharata Natyam from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidhyalaya (Nalanda College of Classical Dance) in Mumbai, India. This internationally famous institution was founded by Padmashri Dr. Kanak Rele. Neha completed her Bachelor's and Master's in fine arts (Classical dance) from Nalanda specializing in Bharatanatyam. She is also a trained artiste in Mohiniattam. Neha was fortunate enough to be guided by very eminent Gurus like Smt. Thangamani Nagarajan, Smt.Malati Agniswaran, Shri Vaibhav Arekar and Smt.Ambika Vishwanathan who were the lecturers at Nalanda Institute. She also had the honor of performing major roles in the most prestigious productions of Nalanda like 'Shilappadikaram', 'Santavani', 'Kanchanmrig', and 'Swapnavasadattam' at various prominent venues in India. At Nalanda as a student she was trained to choreograph dance ballets and also train other students during this period. Since 2005, when she relocated to the US, she has been teaching students in the US and is well known for her adherence to strict standards and yet very creative performances. Following the Guru-Shishya traditions in teaching, she interacts with students in trying to get the best out of every student. It is to her credit that many of her students have performed their 'Arangetram' or solo dance debut recitals since 2006 and more are on their way to achieving this milestone. Neha is an active member of India Association of New Hampshire since 2005 which awarded her with IANH "Excellence Award" in April, 2011. She was also presented the "Spotlight on Excellence Award" in the category of "Dedicated dancer" by Lokvani in September 2011.
