Kavyashree Mallanna

Chess has the power to make people happy, a famous master once said. The royal game considered as both an art and science has the power to make a positive difference to its loyal followers. Kavyashree Mallanna, the Founder Director of Celestial Minds has been implementing this objective as a player, coach, and now as an organizer over the past 3 decades. Kavyashree who has an "Expert" level rating from United States Chess Federation(USCF) is one of New England's top Chess players; currently, she is also the highest-rated female chess player in New Hampshire. Her company Celestial Minds has established itself as an important chess coaching school, organized several top-class rated tournaments, and also contributed significantly to the social cause through Chess. She was initiated to Chess at an early age by her mother, who was actively involved in the local chess circuit. By playing in several open tournaments at a young age, amidst a thriving Mysore chess community, Kavyashree was able to make quick progress. A few of her early achievements included winning the State Women's Chess Championships, representing the state in the National level for 14 times, getting crowned as a state champion in all possible age categories for a decade, winning an individual medal at the National Inter-University Championship, and finishing with silver in All India Round Table Chess zonal.
