ABOUT Hi, I'm Dipti, and I grew up in Sojitra, Gujarat, India for the first 13 years of my life before moving to Hoffman Estates, a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. When I came to the United States, my family was unfamiliar with the middle school system, so I started high school instead. Initially, I was frustrated with my parents for not teaching me English in India, and I struggled with the language barrier. However, I now appreciate that my parents taught me Gujarati and Hindi, which allows me to fluently communicate with those who cannot speak English. It also keeps me connected to my cultural heritage and provides me with a sense of belonging and identity. Being proficient in these languages also creates opportunities for me to communicate and exchange culture with family, friends, and communities who speak them. Thanks to my background, I can effortlessly read, write, and speak these languages. Now, I would like to pass this on to the next generation to help preserve their cultural heritage and strengthen family bonds. It can also provide them with language skills that can be valuable for their personal and professional growth. I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect. It all started with doodling - my escape from this world! Painting and all sorts of crafts were my way out of the boredom. Rather than how food digests in my body, it was always the diagrams with bright colors that captured my imagination. In the pursuit of safer green pastures for future, I got a Masters degree in Finance and started working in the corporate sector. However, a highly structured existence without any outlets for my creative free-spirited self was just too much. So after about two years in so called lucrative and steady job, I decided to call it quits and started my business of hand painted bags. Few years from then, to provide the so called “future of our society” more ways to express themselves, I started an Art studio!

Shila Mehta is a Kathak dance artist, choreographer, Performer with over 35 years of experience in her field.She is the founder and Artistic Director of Nupur Zankar Academy of Performing Arts & Research Centre based in Mumbai with other centres at New Jersey -USA, Ghent –Belgium and Swindon – UK. Shila was groomed as Kathak artist under eminent Gurus and Masters including Pt. Prahalad Das, Pt. Vijai Shankar, Pt. Birju Maharaj. She was mentored in Laya asthetics by Pt. SureshTalwalkar. She participated actively in the choreographies of Pt.Chitresh Das and Smt.Kumudini Lakhia. Currently She is working with Dr Kanak Rele on understanding about Abhinaya aesthetics.At a very young age she made her mark in field of art and culture with scintillating performances and novel choreographies bringing a wave of energy, particularly in Gujarati society.
