Important Lessons Pets Teach Us
I recently went for a pet show in New York where a few pet owners shared the lessons they learnt from their pet; as a general rule many experienced improved quality of life, less stress and improved immunity power. They enumerated lessons that they learnt from their pets.
Important lessons that pets teach us:
The first pet owner said pets taught him to do research; this started once he decided to own a pet and researched about its origin, care and other requirements. Research not only made him more knowledgeable about his pet, but prior research also helps him select the best breed for his needs.
Another pet owner told us that buying a pet taught him all about budgeting; budgeting is very important as you have to provide for the necessities and emergencies of another breathing life. Besides some pets are more expensive than others; you have to decide if you can afford it.
It was still more interesting to know that one of the pet owner learnt how to establish a routine; setting and maintaining a daily routine of feeding, playing, grooming and walking not only made him more organized, but also helped him build deeper bonds with his pet.

Next a pet owner that owns several pets confided that he had learnt to be more patient; he trained his dog and cat that give him rewarding situations like a calm household and opportunities to potentially save his pet’s life in future as well. He also confided he learnt how to be patient in the toughest of situations.
Another pet owner said that besides patience, pets also taught him to be kind and respectful; if you act aggressively towards pets they would also act out of fear and aggressively and could develop various behavioral problems. Being kind could develop strong bonds of trust.
Owning a pet according to one of the pet owners was that he learnt how to build animal bonds; his fishes recognized his face and came to him for food, with his dog saving his life when he was in danger.
Another excited pet-owner said that having pets helped him build new human friendships with other fellow pet owners and in joining online communities. This has helped him to turn to someone when everything fails; he added that however it is very essential to demonstrate basic knowledge of care of pets before joining such communities.

Next a pet owner that lives all alone said that having a happy and healthy pet and spending time with it playing, training and relaxing enriched both his and his pet’s life and made it positive and joyful.
Next a pet owner who had just lost a pet and was looking for a new one to adopt said that his pet’s death made him discover how he could grieve at his own pace and then move on to welcome new pets with open arms.
Lastly a veteran pet owner felt happy that he was able to share his knowledge and experience about pets with others that needed help to bring up happy, healthy and well bonded pets.
