4 Basic Needs Of Your Pet Dog
You as a pet dog owner must want to keep your pet happy and in good health; dogs like us need food shelter, and water, but they also need good physical care and nurturing.
The 4 basic needs of your pet dog are:
1) It is very essential to ensure that your pet dog has a healthy and balanced diet; it is futile to spend money on top-of-the-line diet that your dog does not eat and give him the quality diet he enjoys. There are many companies that offer samples, with some offering money-back guarantee; you could also give your pet dog a home-made diet with the consultation of your vet. Your pet dog should be given small batches to make sure he likes the diet. A drop in energy or dull hair coats warrants a change in diet; this should be done with a vet’s consultation. Also any change in the diet should be made gradually to avoid food aversions or gastro-intestinal problems. Also ensure you give your dog clean and fresh water.
2) It is best to understand that dogs need a home and not mere shelter as they are pack animals; they would not like to be excluded from the family unit. It is best to earmark an area as your dog’s own space such as a kennel, crate or bed; this would help dogs respect your space as you respect his. Dogs can live both outside and inside the house; however it is necessary to provide access to a doggie door or temperature controlled doghouse to prevent serious consequences to health due to extreme heat and cold.

3) Your pet dog’s physical health is very important; exercise your pet dog regularly and take preventive veterinary care. Exercising could also mean taking your pet dog around the block for a stroll each morning; the amount of exercise depends on the breed of the dog. In addition taking your dog for a veterinary check-up at least once a year would help identify potential health problems well in advance. In addition all pet dogs need good grooming like bathing, trimming of nails and regular haircuts; it would be ideal to learn all about grooming from a professional groomer and then stick to the grooming regimen established.

4) Nurturing pet dogs by training helps to improve the quality of life of your pet dog; structure and discipline are paramount to your dogs and it is necessary to choose a training program and follow it through. Training could be entrusted to a professional trainer or you could learn all about training on your own. Consistent training would help bring about positive results in the shape of good behavior. It is equally important to strengthen and maintain a positive bond with your pet dog with setting aside quality time to play with the dogs and his toys, talk to him, and take him for rides in the car.
Are you all set to build and maintain that bond with your pet?
