Nikita’s Bollywood Dance Academy specialize in teaching Bollywood dancing that blends hip-hop and modern dance styles with traditional Indian steps. Bollywood Dance Academy is a great place to learn to dance whether it is Bhangra dance lessons or Garba dance lessons. Our dance studio is based in 5 locations (Burlington, Lexington, Chelmsford, Andover and Nashua, NH) accepting students ages 4+ to all level (beginners to professional dancers). We teach Bollywood folk, western, contemporary, salsa, waltz, rumba, tango, hip-hop all fused with Bollywood moves.

Moumita Banerjee is very passionate about Kathak Dance and started learning kathak dance (in Jaipur Gharana) at the age of five under Smt. Susmita Chakraborty in Calcutta. She earned her Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) degree from Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi, India), one of the largest and prestigious university in Asia. She was awarded with Gold Medal for securing 1st position in the University. She also completed Prabhakar degree (Similar to bachelor’s degree in Kathak dance) and Senior Diploma in Kathak with distinction from Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad, India) She received her Master of Performing Arts (MPA) degree in Kathakk dance in Lucknow Gharana from Bhatkhande Music Institute (Deemed University, Lucknow). She har learned under legendary Gurus like Prof. Kumkum Dhar, Prof. Bina Singh, and Prof. Ranjana Srivastava. She also completed workshop training with late Pandit Birju Maharaj, leading exponent of Lucknow gharana of Kathak and Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee. She has been a performer for many years, performing and Choreographing in India and in USA (Florida, Texas, and Massachusetts) at various organizations and festivals. Her students also performed in many programs in Greater Boston community such as Essence of India, Acton; IAGB; IAB; Sai rainbow; Boston Children Museum and many other places. With prior teaching experience in India and in USA, Moumita is glad to share her dance experience with children and adults who love Kathak as much as she does. Kathak is one of the major forms of classical dance of India with its origins in Northern India. The name Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘katha' which means ‘story' and the one who tells the stories is called ‘Kathak'. Kathak is found in three Gharanas-Jaipur, Banaras, and Lucknow Gharana from the cities where the Kathak dance tradition evolved. These classes at TSK will focus on the Banaras and Lucknow Gharanas.

Ghungru Dance School is dedicated in teaching and propagating the Indian classical Dances particularly Bharatanatyam. They try to inculcate the love of dancing into every student so that all children can realize their full potential. The early stages of training involve learning the basic steps and movements of the dance. These are the building blocks for subsequent, more advanced, sequences for dancing. The exercises condition the body for the unique postures of Bharatanatyam. They also develop the student’s sense of movement. Having a fit and flexible physique allows a student to learn quickly. For those who are not fit and posses less flexibility they will have to be developed over time. Students also learn eye movements, which are done in integration with the body movements in the dance. At this stage students also learn the names of hand gestures, which is an important feature of Bharatanatyam. They compromise the descriptive language of the dance. They also teach the students about the history of Bharatanatyam and other topics related to it.
