Meet Samyukta Ranganathan

I am trained Carnatic vocalist and is a leading light of young singer of the T Brinda style. I studied for over two decades under one of the foremost masters, Sangeetha Kalacharya Bombay S Ramachandran and has performed dozens of concerts to great acclaim. I currently have several student that I have has through the rigorous training required to be a solid Carnatic music singer. We focus on understanding your vocal strengths and weaknesses and begin addressing them right away. We will work on all of the vocal registers such as chest voice and head voice. You will begin to master your mix voice and the ability to transition between and blend these registers. You will also learn to apply these techniques to the vocal styles that you sing. I will bring both modern scientific techniques as well as my knowledge of Classical Indian vocals together to make you a well-rounded singer! Voice lessons are conducted one-on-one in person or on online via Skype, FaceTime or Google Hangouts. Through renowned music school Navatman, in New York City, I also offer lessons in Carnatic or South Indian Classical singing. I teach vast repertoire of songs, including multiple rare pieces. We will work on repertoire, rhythm, improvisation skills, and authentic delivery of the style. All levels and ages welcome! I also conduct vocal technique workshops and intensive training in vocal technique in Chennai, India on a regular basis.
