Sayali Pendse, of Kalaasmi Academy, is classically trained Hindustani Vocalist and Bharatnatyam dancer from India. She has completed Visharad degree in Bharatnatyam as well as Hindustani Music with First class. She has completed her Arangetram in 2010. Under the guidance of Mrs. Swati Daithankar(Bharatnatyam) and Mrs. Sudha Bhalerao(Vocal), she has given variety of performances in India as well as in the United States. Kalaasmi Academy is affiliated with Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyala. I am passionate about teaching Rangoli Art Lessons for Kids. I have been doing this in the USA since 1999. I have taught preschool children, kindergarten children, and children from neighborhood in the Silicon Valley bay area. Most of the time, I teach how to do the Paper version of Rangoli, helping the children to learn the art of drawing the Rangoli patterns, by connecting dots. I help them understand how they can color creatively, based on their imagination. There can be some occasions where I can train them, how to do it on the floor, using white dry powder, wet rice powder, and color dry powders. I can answer any questions, the children have on this ancient art of India, and Hindu culture. I can provide references to books, and magazines, where they can learn more. Anjani Ambegaokar is responsible for training generations of Kathak dance students in the US ranging in the thousands for over the past 40 years as Artistic Director, Choreographer, Educator, Founder and Dancer. Anjaniji is trained in Kathak by Guru Pandit Sundarlaljee Gangani of Jaipur Gharana from India and holds an MA in Kathak dance from M.S. University of Baroda, India. For the past 70 years Anjani has dedicated her heart and soul to the excellence, preservation, and continuation of Classical Kathak Dance in the U.S.A. and internationally. I toured and performed throughout the USA in 2014 with Suva Devi Kalbelia who is famous for her barrel turns in the film. This year, I got to meet Talab Khan who was the young boy singing in the film. He’s now a grown man. During my 2017 Tour with Rajasthani Caravan, I was awarded by both RANA (Rajasthanis of North America) and ARA (American Rajasthani Association) for my work. Then, in 2018 I became a member of the International Dance Council, CID - UNESCO, the highest level of dance recognition in the world. Regardless, my time in India was unforgettable.
