About Little Oaks Montessori Academy

Little Oaks Montessori Academy (LOMA) is a member of AMS. We are dedicated to providing a culturally rich and nature-based education to children. The Montessori philosophy reached the U.S. by 1911 but has only truly been a mainstream phenomenon since about 1960. Dr. Montessori s son expanded upon her work by refining many of her theories, including the notion of human tendencies. Contemporary Montessori schools focus on learning via encouraging these natural tendencies, among them abstraction, communication, exploration, orientation, repetition and work i.e., purposeful and goal-oriented activity. Today, there are more than 8,000 Montessori schools in the U.S., and that number is growing. Our school is part of a vibrant community of like-minded parents and educators who want the very best for all students.
