    Joanna has been teaching and performing since 2006. She has a wonderful community of students of all ages and backgrounds. Joanna began her study of Indian Classical sitar in 1997. She spent 8 years in Kolkata studying under Pandit Deepak Choudhury, She then returned to US to continue her training and had the honor to study under Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. She continues her journey with Sarodia Bruce Hamm and Sangeet Research Academy Sitar Guru Partha Chatterjee. joannamack.com For full biography. Joanna is available to perform Classical North Indian sitar for concerts, weddings, private functions, lecture demonstrations and events. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area but also performs throughout the US and internationally. She works with the best professional tabla players and also with other traditional Indian instruments such as sarod and bansuri.
