About Elder Care Alliance

Elder Care Alliance has been serving seniors and their families in California for nearly 20 years, but our history stretches back even further. We trace our history to the 1907 opening of Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, founded by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1997, Mercy and Salem Lutheran Home came together, and with the support of Dignity Health, Elder Care Alliance was formed. Today, Elder Care Alliance is a network of five communities: Mercy Retirement & Care Center, AlmaVia of San Francisco, AlmaVia of San Rafael, and AlmaVia of Camarillo in Southern California. Our newest addition to the Elder Care Alliance family is The Villa at San Mateo.
