About Country Bear Learn & Play Center

Hi, my name is Carmen Ramirez, owner and director since 1988. I have been teaching pre-kindergarten readiness since August of 1988. Our goal at Country Bear is to prepare your child for kindergarten in the best way possible, teaching them self esteem, motivating them to want to learn and at the same time having lots of fun! Pre-kindergarten readiness is our goal! We teach colors, shapes, letters and numbers. We count from 1-20 and write numbers from 1-10. We learn to write our name and our letters upper and lower case. We teach phonics and recognition of letters and numbers. We work on lots of fine and gross motor skills through play, like cutting, lacing, hopping, skipping, jumping, etc. We use Clifford the Big Red Dog Magazine from scholastic twice a month, which is a wonderful teaching tool. Every month is a different theme science, health, nature, etc.
