Why parents should teach art to children?

There is a perception among the parents of today’s busy world that hiring a specialist to teach their kids was the wise decision. However, the child care experts say no!

The growing need for the masses to earn money and excel in career had already distanced them in several aspects of parenting. Being said that educating the children about art is out of their syllabus of parenting. In a survey conducted across the parents of children aged from 3 to 13 revealed that majority of the parents are not ready to teach their children about art skills. Though the number of children learning various art skills with the help of institutes and teachers has significantly increased, the contribution of parents in the art learning process of their children is void on most occasions.

Why should parents teach about art?

Unlike any other subject, art mostly is attached to the culture and emotions of the humanity. Acquiring those skills in systematic procedures like that of Math and Science is really not a good idea, according to experts.

Painting, for instance, is an artwork that induces the ability of the children to absorb various colors from nature. Music is consumed by the emotions and the situations of the being. The children must learn to show various emotions with the help of music. Teachers who teach the fundamentals of the music will often fail at inducing these emotional aspects of the children.

How the contribution of parents will help?

Teaching the children art by the parents has several advantages. The emotional bonding is one of them. Though every parent may not be skilled to teach art, accompanying them to their art lessons and discussing their progress and interests will often help them cultivate the skills effectively.
