As I concentrated on writing blogs of how to make childcare effective, I suddenly realized that it could only be effective when mothers took care of themselves; to put it in short the whole family including the elders in the family could benefit only when a mother took care to refresh and rejuvenate herself and also focused on the right work-life balance. Some leading psychiatrists are of the opinion that motherhood needs to be a smooth and stress free journey and this could easily be done by following a few valuable tips.

• The first valuable tip is that mothers also need a break and rest just like all of us; this would help to distress the body and mind. Taking rest to rejuvenate may seem very difficult for her considering her multifarious activities; but said and done this is not difficult once one does some effective planning to avoid things collapsing.  Taking a day off from time to time could make mothers more relaxed and happier.  



• The next important aspect that I have experienced as a mother is that we as mothers get too observed in our role as mother, wife, and daughter-in-law that we tend to forget various aspects of our own personality; we are just like other humans that have our own likes and dislikes and hobbies that give us satisfaction and happiness. Yes, it is true we need to invest ourselves in our tastes, hobbies and interests also for some time on a regular basis that would keep us happy and satisfied.



• Wanting to make motherhood an enjoyable and stress free experience also means setting up a right work-family life balance; this is the effective way as a working mother to meet the challenge of managing work and family responsibilities effectively. One working mother holding a challenging job once told me the reason for her being happy and stress free; she organized herself and never carried her work worries home as she didn’t her home worries to work. It was all about stress and time management strategy.

• I have been the mother of 2 very challenging children and have found that my role as a mother and spouse left me with very less time to think of friends; but I soon realized that friends could be the best source of support when things got overwhelming and difficult to manage. It feels quite good thinking that your friends are also in the same boat juggling work, children, spouse and elders.



• Last, but most important it is best to feel happy with the joys of motherhood; this journey is a God given gift that need to be nurtured with its ups and downs. Many experienced mothers would vouch that it is a unique experience that changes ones priorities and perspectives; so my dear sisters enjoy this journey and experience the full bonuses of it.
