Some Great New Year 2015 Resolutions For Kids
The thought of the arrival of New Year 2015 made me feel that it was time that not only adults, but also kids made New Year resolutions 2015 and kept them to turn into better individuals. I have divided the kids into 3 age groups namely preschoolers, 5-12 years and 13 and above.
Great New Year resolutions for preschoolers:
a) I will put back my toys in place after I play with them.
b) I will talk with my parents or a trusted adult when I am scared and need help.
c) I will not tease dogs, cats and other pets and will avoid being bitten by keeping my fingers and face away from their mouth.
d) I will brush my teeth twice a day, and wash my hands after going to the bathroom and before eating.
e) I will be friendly to kids that need a friend and are sad or lonely.
Great New Year resolutions for kids 5 to 12 years old:
a) I will drink a lot of water and reduced fat milk everyday; soda and fruit drinks would be reserved for special occasions.
b) I will find a sport like basketball or soccer and an activity like playing tag, jumping rope, dancing or riding my bike that I like and indulge in it 3 times a week. I will always wear a helmet when riding a bike.
c) I will apply sunscreen before going out on bright and sunny days, stay in the shade and wear a hat and sunglasses especially while playing sports.
d) I promise to follow our household rules for videogames and internet use; I'll never give out private information such as my name, home address, school name or telephone number or my picture without my parent’s permission.
e) I will never indulge, encourage or even watch bullying and join others in stopping it.
f) I will talk with my parent or a trusted adult when I have a problem or feel stressed.
g) I'll be friendly to kids who have no friends and ask them to join activities such as sports or games.
h) I will wear my seat belt every time I travel by car; I will sit in the back and use a booster seat until I am tall enough to use a lap/shoulder seat belt.
Great New Year resolutions for kids for 13 years and over:
a) I will care for my body by adequate physical activity and eating the right foods in the right amount; I will eat 2 servings of fruits and 2 servings of vegetables everyday and drink sodas only on special occasions.
b) I will spend some time helping out in my community by helping those in need with joining community groups.
c) I will take a break or indulge in useful activities like exercising, reading, writing in a journal or talking about my problem with a parent or friend when I am angry or stressed out.
d) I promise to follow our household rules for video games and internet use and will play non-violent television shows and video games for only 2 hours daily.
e) I will resist peer pressure to try tobacco-cigarettes, drugs or alcohol.
f) I will be careful about whom I choose to date, and always treat the other person with respect. I will expect to be treated the same way in return.
g) I will talk over choices with an adult when faced with a difficult decision.
h) I promise to not use a cell phone or text message while driving; I will always use the seat belt.
So are we all set to ring in 2015 and ring out 2014 the positive way?
