A study conducted at Oregon State, by the Center for Healthy Aging Research states that by evaluating 900 volunteers to the severity of their stress level has resulted in a conclusion. That people who rated their daily irritations as "very stressful" had a similar mortality rate with people who reported occasional highly-stressful events like the death of a loved one.

Stress leads to major health hazards like high blood pressure, lesser immune power. According to the American Psychological Association, money, work, and the economy seem to play a significant role in bringing stress to individuals, and nearly 40 percent of adults said, political and cultural discussions on social media causes stress. Apart from that, topics like terrorism resulted in 34 percent, and mass shootings and gun violence are at 31 percent. Personal and family health concerns were also a significant source of stress.

So how to eradicate this stress is the big question, the answer is very simple: meditation. The National Institutes of Health conducted a study. They found that African-Americans with heart disease who regularly practiced Transcendental Meditation lowered their risk of death and heart attack by 48 percent.

In the prominent NBC news channel, the author of "Bliss More: How to Succeed in Meditation," says "real people living busy lives" can de-stress anywhere, anytime, by following a few simple mindful meditation techniques, such as feeling the moment, catching their breath and allowing all thoughts. So know your thoughts and try meditation to live a stress-free life.
