Eldercare - What not to say someone in A Wheelchair?

  • Link Copied

Eldercare defines the difference between empathy and sympathy. So that people would get to know what not to say someone in a wheelchair. This is the problem with caregivers of Indian origin. They aren’t pleased with the bloody puppy face you put on! Once you get fired, it’s not just you, but their confidence gets fired along with you.

“Let me help you!”

-       Won’t you feel icky at someone if they don’t let you to be on your own? After all, you’re borne to wheelchair due to broken legs!

Eldercare for someone in a wheelchair” doesn’t mean that you’ve to “act nice”! You don’t have to rush frantically just because they’re dependent on you to do their laundry. Just give them a chance…

“You’re good looking for a person in wheelchair”

-       What a fish are you? Let someone compliment you in the same fashion, when your broken leg becomes a cast!

“I’m with stupid” Smiley Never ever dare saying this to a person in the wheelchair…you’re totally a jerk, who lives under the misconception that someone who is bound to wheelchair is plain and sloppy.

“Slow down there. You might get a speeding ticket”

-       Don’t get worked up! Let a stranger utter the same to you, when you’re bound to a wheelchair.

A few of the elders would barf on you, so shut your piehole!

Do you mean to say “you’re destined to be in a wheelchair, so that you can be swift”? This is so barftastic!!!
