12 Lessons Of Life Mothers Taught Their Children

On Mother’s Day, my friends and me were discussing lessons we learnt from our mothers; they were neither people who held fancy jobs nor fancy education qualifications, but who had the experience of life.  I am sure most of us could connect with at least a few life lessons that our mothers gave us.

12 life lessons that mothers taught their children:

1) Do your duty and let go off the reward: Mothers teach their children that no matter where you are or what you are going through, just remember that there is light at the end of a tunnel; never expect, assume or demand anything and just do what is in your control and let go off what you cannot.

2) Anything that happens helps you to grow: Everything that happens in life is an opportunity to improve yourself; do not lose hope, do not be afraid of making mistakes a number of times and learn from each mistake.

3) Be what you are; others should accept you that way: Always speak the truth and walk your path confidently and proudly; no one may understand you, but they have to accept you as you are.

4) You will be stronger and wiser by life’s experiences: Everyone changes in their perspective, likes and dislikes with the ups and downs of life; never fear criticism from people for you are now a stronger and wiser person.

5) Consider life to be simple: Do not get entangled with many things of life; just focus on one thing at a time and do it well, for it is the most anyone can do.

6) Create a positive attitude in life: Our attitude determines whether we are unhappy or happy in life; so just smile at all those that have hurt you to show them they cannot make you unhappy.

7) Learn how to let go of people: We all need to learn to do it as some may be bad to you, some need to do things their way and some need to learn the hard lesson from you; you have to learn to say goodbye at times to benefit others and you.

8) Pay close attention to those you care about: You need to look into the eyes of those you care about and hug and be nice to them; be happy when people remember you when they need you, but be upset when they are not there when you need them.

9) It is best to be happy and not rich: We need to realize that the value of things is much greater than the price of things; true the best days in our life are those where we require nothing special to make us smile.

10) It is much better to not believe you did it than wish you did it: How very true it is to try to do something and achieve at least something than not try at all but wish you could achieve something if you had tried.

11) Keep yourself off people who slow you down to get results: It is best to keep away from those who do not see things as you do; keep the wonderful memories you had with them, but move on to achieve your happiness.

12) If you fail in your goals; it is time to look for new achievable ones: Never be stubborn and accept that you failed; the strongest people are those that have fought the toughest battles, lost and moved to new beginnings.
