About Ocean Early Childhood Center

The Ocean Early Childhood Center is a privately owned, non-sectarian, non-denominational school. We offer a certified and experienced staff dedicated to providing a sound educational program. We use High Scope Curriculum. A play based curriculum based on more than 50 years of research on early childhood development and has been validated by direct evaluation of the curriculum. Our framework for understanding and supporting children s learning from ages 3-5 years is based on 58 key developmental indicators, which are aligned with national and state early learning standards, Common Core State Standards, and the Head Start Learning Outcomes Framework. Active learning is at the center of the High Scope Curriculum with major emphasis on adult-child interaction, learning environment and daily routines. Field trips and visits from community resource people are part of our varied program.
